A Very Good Morning !

All done ?? Have you all gone through the recalls of the question papers and made your mood bad in the past two days, finding out more wrongs that you expected ? Discussed with your friends and released that you made a mistake when he/she pointed out they got the question correct?  I hope you must have dont it and I hope you must have wanted to hit yourself for doing that silly mistake ! So had an interesting question asked by a student "Why should I know the recalls and spoil the mood when they don't repeat (or repeats very very rarely)"  Very logical question. But only tiny little problem is you are still putting yourself in the chair of a student. Not a consultant doctor !! Let's change the mindset and look at the bigger picture..  When you make an error and when you sulk over it, i should have not done this, when you get depressed - why did i mark this - There are numerous permanent connections happening in your brain neurons - relating unrelated things to explain why you made the error. And you let it go after sometime -But your brain doesn't, puts it in a non-erasable permanent storage. ! Try to recollect this would have happened in your life. You HOD/Professor would have diagnosed something super crazy -  all your department junior staffs will be like wow, he is just amazing. Someone would have asked "Sir/ma'am, how did you think of the diagnosis?" A genuine professor would have told "I don't know I had an hunch" -  You must have thought that guy is showing off and did not want to share how he did it.  Actually no, the person was telling the truth - It must have been a hunch. But you know who made that happen. The INICET/AIIMS/NEET?exams/ward round "ERRORS" you made - who is sitting there silently and teaching you.   Those mistakes must be screaming  "Hunch, my foot -  you scolded me 20 years back for making you sad - Now look you puny human, i helped you And you recall your error and we get over it for that reason to have "The needed Hunch for future" So now go back with a smile and recall them and if you feel like hitting yourself for a mistake "Do it, hit yourself" - To make your circuits even stronger !  Keep learning, Keep smiling ! A very good morning!

INICET - Recall

Which of the following proteins does HPV vaccine target? a.     E6, E7 b.     E1 E2 c.     L1 d.     L2 Answer is L1.  Explanation  The vaccines target HPV L1 major capsid protein, which can assemble to form virus-like particles (VLPs) morphologically resembling native virions, to generate robust antibody responses and prevent HPV infection. Gardasil contains VLPs for HPV-16 and -18, associated with cervical cancer, and VLPs for HPV-6 and -11, associated with benign genital warts. Cervarix contains only HPV-16 and -18 VLPs. Make the best use of the last month. A review of INI-CET

After seeing the questions of INI-CET. Humble observation.🔥The exam is becoming bit tougher and more practical approach. ðŸ”¥The questions asked in pathology - a few are one liners (easy ones like JAK2) and majority are application based with a history and what will you do next or to diagnose?🔥There were 30-32 questions related to Pathology (With a couple overlap from medical genetics, normal histology related) out of which there were 12 images. ðŸ”¥Going back to basics is a good sign - But going back to neubaeur chamber and so primitive tests is bad, having said that one of the 30 odd questions being like that is fine🔥To answer multiple options questions - one needs more indepth understanding of theoretical knowledge -  a superficial preparation and last minute cramming might not help in solving questions with a,c only - a,b,c only and etc., ðŸ”¥And the most important will be time factor  - We have to make sure our neurons fire faster to finish the question paper in time !!One big sigh of relief - Relatively less new topics explored. So verdict is in depth reading of the subject to have more clarity about approach to a disease. A welcome sign - that once they wanted you to be doctors than students ! Hope this pattern prevails and helps a student to learn better. Shall upload the test of INI-CET by tonight or tomorrow. Preparing the stem of questions and answers !A very good morning !!

Live vs Recorded !

When i decided to take classes i wanted it live as well as recorded for mainly one reason ! The number of students actually attending the classes.  With the data i have now after two months, i can confidently extrapolate a few findings. Live classes Number of students who come in for a live class regularly - 1/5-1/10 of the studentsThese students attend the entire class, make handwritten notes. If they are not able to attend in a day - they see the class back before the next class being (Completing the portions is important for them)Recorded classThere is a slight lethargy which sets in a recorded class and tiny weeny bit of procrastination which we are all used to sets in. With the amount of data consumed -  we can tell the total number of watch hours in recorded. The students who go for recorded - the complete watch hours are less. !! The data over the past two months shows significantly less number of watch hours for the recorded.  So what will be the best ? Having a recorded class should be considered a back up to the live class. ! Should not be a replacement. I would insist students to attend live  - so when they miss something they can watch the recorded ones at their own pace. Here they will have a fear of missing out and will see the MISSED class, where the procrastination is reduced a lot !! Let's not waste time, lets get geared towards reading and learning Pathology more conceptually -  Do not miss the live classes of Neoplasia Next week. We will be completing Immunology this week - Subscribe here today !!
