I was talking to a Head and Neck Oncology Fellow yesterday and something stuck me hard. He was saying that - Once he finished the course, he wants to become like "Dr.X" (one of the leaders in Head and Neck Oncology in the country). I thought amazing goal he has got and went back to the lab.
I also have a aim - to become like a leading oncopathologist in the country. Most of have a person in mind and wanted to become that person. Isn't?
Most of us do not reach the place and our aim slowly becomes less significant. So is there any flaw in this method of being ambitious to be the best in the field like so and so ? Rather not, you will but we have to have change our approach a bit.
Let's take my case - My position now here is at 100 and the Pathologist who is like a idol - is at 1. So i have so much to do to reach the position. Thinking about the journey itself is exhaustive. Very very much, so during the journey there are all possibilities for me to drop out after being burnt out.
Rather why don't we do this, reduce our destination - Instead of aiming at the top, probably I would have been better - if I had aimed at 95th position from 100th probably i would have done it - and then 90th and one day my dream would have happened. Just the probability in the latter is more than the former.
It would be better for us if we do the same thing - Rather than focussing on the NEET results and dream college and seat (that will be there in the back of mind) - we shall focus on today's target and we will be well off once we complete it !Today's Target for #Pathocubs
