Thyroid follicular nodular disease (FND) is a multifocal non-inflammatory benign proliferation of thyroid follicular cells that results in multiple clonal and non-clonal nodules with highly variable architecture

  • Essential: Follicular cell proliferations lacking invasive growth and nuclear features of papillary thyroid carcinoma.
  • Desirable: An admixture of follicular and papillary growth patterns along with varying degrees of degenerative and reparative changes.
