Live vs Recorded !

When i decided to take classes i wanted it live as well as recorded for mainly one reason ! The number of students actually attending the classes.  With the data i have now after two months, i can confidently extrapolate a few findings.

Live classes

  1. Number of students who come in for a live class regularly - 1/5-1/10 of the students
  2. These students attend the entire class, make handwritten notes. If they are not able to attend in a day - they see the class back before the next class being (Completing the portions is important for them)

Recorded class

  1. There is a slight lethargy which sets in a recorded class and tiny weeny bit of procrastination which we are all used to sets in. With the amount of data consumed -  we can tell the total number of watch hours in recorded.
  2. The students who go for recorded - the complete watch hours are less. !! The data over the past two months shows significantly less number of watch hours for the recorded.

So what will be the best ? Having a recorded class should be considered a back up to the live class. ! Should not be a replacement. I would insist students to attend live  - so when they miss something they can watch the recorded ones at their own pace. Here they will have a fear of missing out and will see the MISSED class, where the procrastination is reduced a lot !!
