An 18-year-old female is brought into labor and delivery following a diagnosis of preeclampsia at 38 weeks. The delivery is uneventful, and the patient gives birth to a healthy baby. The hospital runs standard testing as well as some additional tests, including a karyotype which reveals the baby to be a male (XY chromosomes). When the labs return they show the testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) ratio is more than 23 times higher than normal. Further workup reveals a 5-alpha-reductase deficiency. What would the expected internal and external genitalia, respectively, of this genetically male baby?
