What you would have done ?

I have always wanted to have a basic understanding of economy and people management classes to be included into the medical curriculum, have written to MCI, but of now use, shall be writing to NMC as well. Because when you freshly graduate with and lets say with top most marks in your university and go to job - we are expected to know about the economy and people management. Economy you will in due course, but people management is a skill. Personally had struggled a lot to balance between things and have made quite a few worst decisions in life in relation to lab and people management and have burnt the finger badly. So i would love if i can give you heads up on few scenarios worth while which comes in day to day life. Afterall it's a skill, you guys will master it once you get exposed, so learn from my mistakes :) This was a real life incident which happened A lab kit of CA19-9 went missing yesterday from our lab. (worth Rs.15,000).  The last test done was on 23rd of november. And when searched for yesterdays case to process the kit went missing. All the technicians had got the rotation in the past 5 days - Totally we have 7 technical staffs. Now I am in a position to rectify this. I shall tell my problems and you decide and think how to handle the situation. 1) Management should know this. So there should be a replacement of the money. To take it from 7 technical staff for one persons mistake would be bad2) There was a newly joined technical staff - 3 weeks back. Would I doubt that person .? Since this is the first time happening in the lab -  naturally the doubt will shift to the new person. How do I make the person comfortable and convey that you are not only the point of focus. I dont want any of the employee be dejected and feel cornered3) This incident should not repeat, what all should I do for that ?4) If you find out the person who took it by some means, what action you would take on the person.? So for a change we shall start our morning by giving some food to our brain. You are the boss here, you need not tell me. But think for yourself what will you do. !? A Very Good Morning. !
